Growing up I was surrounded by remodel projects, which I can solely thank my parents for. So even though my search for a college degree started out undecided, I followed my heart and concentrated on what I loved; Interior Design. I received my Bachelor’s Degree at UW-Stout; majoring in Retail Merchandising & Management with a concentration in Interior Design. Right out of college I began selling flooring. I worked with customers on all sizes of projects in the Rochester Area. While seeking a job where I could work closer to our home in Owatonna, I was fortunate enough to become an Advantage Cabinets team member in 2006. I started out managing the showroom & eventually migrated into a role as an assistant designer at Advantage Cabinets & sales for Bookwalls. I learned a lot from the many people I have worked for/with over the years. I am so excited to join the sales team at ACI again and to be able to serve the community with all their design & cabinetry needs!
I reside in rural Owatonna with my husband, Jayme and our 3 daughters. We are active members of our 4-H club in Steele County and enjoy camping all over southern Minnesota. My favorite pastimes are anything crafty & creative to keep my daughters busy, running in a variety of 5K races, and being with family & friends.
I hope to get the opportunity to work with you!
Doug Elsner, Sales/Project Manager
Throughout my entire career, I have been involved in drafting, custom product design and project management. During my twelve years with Advantage Cabinets, I've enjoyed meeting and working with many homeowners and builders.
I am so fortunate that anything I can design, our craftsman can produce. We've even created a few hidden passage doors. Their location, however, is a secret!
My spouse, Jane, and I are both involved in youth ministry and enjoy outdoor activities. We have two adult children, both married and a grandson who calls me "Papi".
I look forward to guiding you through your projects!
Scott Kubicek, Owner
I was born and raised on a family farm south of Owatonna. My first jobs were helping neighbors with anything from baling hay to mowing lawn. Enjoying the outdoors and the farm atmosphere I decided to attend the University of Minnesota and graduated with an Associate Degree in Diversified Ag.
Continuing to work after college I was looking for a new challenge and came to Advantage Cabinets. It seemed like a good fit because of my love for hands on work and building things. I began as an installer and in 1996 I was able to buy the company from the previous owner. By this time I was able to see the many different aspects of the business and truly enjoyed going to customers’ homes and seeing them excited about the cabinets that we were able to design and build for them.
After 25 plus years in the industry I have seen many things and feel fortunate to have hired great people. As the leader, my goal has been presenting employees with creative opportunities and empowering them to be successful. This has not always been easy in an economy that goes up and down. As a group we have worked hard to ensure success with a focus on the customers we serve.
Continuous improvement is one of our core values and together we look for ways to raise the bar on every customer experience we are involved in.
I have 4 active children. I enjoy seeing them learn new things that I do not even know. I also get the opportunity to lead, coach, and chaperon and just be involved with the many different activities that they do. I also enjoy working on home projects and seeing what I can create that is a little different than anything I have seen before.
